WATER TUTORIAL

FUNDAMENTALS

Draw a section of water with me in coloured pencils where I show you step-b-step how to achieve the fluid, ripple effect of waves in the sea. This is useful for wildlife artwork as many wildlife references often feature sections of sea, rivers and ponds.

PAPER

I use Fabriano Artistico hot pressed watercolour paper for this tutorial, but they have since changed the texture of the surface. Alternatively, I recommend starting out with a paper such as Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Vellum as it's perfect for beginners.
